Bayview Foundation Programs

“I Have a Dream” Program
Bayview Foundation’s first program started in 1999 when we engaged with the “I Have a Dream” Program. The program began supporting a 1st grade class at Charles R. Drew Elementary School. Over the next 2 years, the school improved from a “D” rating to an “A”.
Bayview Foundation’s support followed the children through their education paths to 15 area middle schools. Bayview Foundation expanded the program in 2005 and 2006 to 4 additional K-1 classes at Frederick Douglass, Phillis Wheatley, and Holmes Elementary Schools. The first Bayview Foundation Dreamer class graduated in June 2010 with an overall graduation rate of 97%.

KIPP Knowledge Is Power Program
Bayview Foundation partners with nationally renowned KIPP Schools (Knowledge Is Power Program Schools).
Miami’s first KIPP School, Miami Sunrise Academy, opened in Liberty City in 2018. Bayview Foundation provides support to the inaugural K-1 grade students and sponsors the College Prep and Mentoring Program to provide after-school programming at the Academy.
Graduates of Bayview Foundation’s “I Have a Dream” Program serve as mentors to students at the Miami Sunrise Academy KIPP School.

Junior Achievement
Bayview Foundation coordinates a volunteer team of employees from the Bayview family of companies to engage in community outreach. Bayview volunteers are teachers-for-a-day during Junior Achievement Days.
Junior Achievement Days gives the Bayview volunteers an opportunity to teach reading and financial literacy skills to elementary and middle school students at Linda Lentin K-8 Center, a Miami public school dedicated to preparing a diverse group of students for the 21st century.

Other Bayview Foundation Initiatives
In addition to our core programs, Bayview Foundation supports several initiatives and efforts designed to enrich the lives of children.
College Tours
To encourage our Dreamers to attend college after graduation, employees from the Bayview family of companies and other volunteers with Bayview Foundation take the Dreamers on college tours around Florida. Our Dreamers are able to visit different colleges where they attend guided tours to learn more about the school and academics offered. The campus tours give them a firsthand look at colleges they may not have seen otherwise.

Bayview in the Community
Bayview Asset Management and its family of companies set aside time every year to focus on giving back to the community and schools. Each community event hosted by Bayview provides volunteers with the opportunity to help enhance the educational environment for students in our community. Bayview Foundation has given back by painting a school’s courtyard, teaching children important financial literacy lessons and mentoring young scholars.

SAT Prep
Bayview Foundation provides academic guidance and resources that will help our Dreamers receive the highest possible score on their SAT. Leading up to their exam day, we hold weekly SAT prep classes to ensure they are equipped for their college admission test. We review real SAT questions and practice writing exercises to help best prepare the students.
